We are not really sure if "Team Hippie Fish" is a full team or just a one-man band.

Either way, we love the name. And truly admire his love for ice fishing and some of the tremendous results he's had recently through the ice, frigid weather be damned.

The Montana Outdoor Radio Show shared some of the secretive success of Montana angler Mike Violette. Simply put, when the ice is thick and the bass are biting, you know Mke Violette is nearby!

Mike, born and raised in Montana, has been on fire lately. Well, as much as one can be while on ice. He’s been hauling in some monster 8-pound-plus like it’s just another day at the office. And that can be part of the problem that most of us can relate to: being stuck at the office all week and impatiently waiting to get back on the ice.

If you follow Team Hippie Fish on Instagram, you already know Mike's no rookie when it comes to ice fishing, but he said that his latest bass catches are easily his personal best at 8 pounds or more.

Regrettably (though most of you anglers can relate), if you’re hoping that he's a largemouth, or even smallmouth, talker about where he's landing these beasts, think again. Mike shares fishing spots about as often as bass volunteer to be caught. However, it was in Montana, and he did hint that a mix of certain lures and jigs could have played a role in catching these monsters.

Regardless, hats off to you, Mike—very nice work and continued good fishing!
