One was a major star on the field. The other helped keep players healthy enough to be on the field.

Both will be honored Friday night, November 15, at the annual University of Montana Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame and Grizzly Lifetime Honors Awards Banquet. And tickets are on sale and selling quickly.

Griz football All-American Vince Huntsberger (1998-2001) will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and longtime UM physician Robert Curry  (1965-1990) will receive the Grizzly Lifetime Honors Award.

Huntsberger, from Libby MT, is one of the greatest defensive players in Griz football history and remains UM's all-time. He was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2001 Division 1-AA National Championship victory over Furman. Vince is now an emergency room physician in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Dr. Curry cared for, monitored and advised Grizzly athletes on health and human performance issues and also served as Grizzly team physician for part of his tenure.

The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. November 15, with a social hour, followed by dinner at 7:00 and induction ceremonies. Tickets are just $40 each and must be purchased by November 11. They are available at the Adams Center Ticket Office and Griz Tix website.

Don't wait. And congratulations to these Griz greats.
