Imagine being out fishing and losing your dog overboard. And we're not talking about Seeley or even Flathead Lake here. Luna the German shepherd went overboard in the Pacific Ocean. Her owner was sure she was a goner.

Associated Press says that Nick Haworth was out fishing when Luna went overboard off the Southern California coast. After a month it would be only natural to assume she had drowned or became a shark snack. That is until she was spotted on San Clemente Island 70 miles from San Diego. The island is a training base owned by the U.S. Navy. Luna was apparently able to swim to the island and live off whatever she could scrounge up for a month. Navy personnel spotted her one day by the side of a road, wagging her tail. Fortunately she still had her tags.

I'm thinking a five-course surf and turf dinner was in order when Nick and Luna got reunited.  DB
