Missoula’s Snowflake Challenge and a Christmas Story Musical
A couple of events to help make your holidays even brighter and merrier.
First, we here at Townsquare Media/Missoula want to send out an enormous "Thank You" to Watson Children's Shelter, a safe haven for children in crisis. During our annual fundraising event, KYSS-Mas for Kids, Watson is a phenomenal partner, working with so many social organizations, making sure that over 1,000 needy children in western Montana will benefit from the money raised this year through your generous donations. It was a record-shattering year for KYSS-Mas for Kids, as those of you who participated generated over $122,000. Thanks and blessings to all of you!
Now, the reason we're here:
SNOWFLAKE CHALLENGE FOR WATSON CHILDREN'S SHELTER
It's an ongoing daily event through January 1 at Draught Works Brewery, 915 Toole Avenue in Missoula. You're invited to join them for a festive fundraiser to support Watson Children's Shelter. The Snowflake Challenge lets everyone get creative by crafting paper snowflakes in the taproom.
It's only $2 per entry, and all proceeds benefit Watson Children’s Shelter. There will a prize awarded for Best in Show, and two random winners (adult and kids categories). You can see the snowflakes currently on display in Draught Works.
Help create a blizzard of love and kindness this season.
A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL
It’s all fun and games until someone shoots their eye out or sticks their tongue on a frozen flagpole. A Christmas Story, The Musical may be set in 1940s Indiana, but the iconic cultural references from the 1983 film will ring out like the sound of a Red Ryder BB Gun to modern-day audiences.
The musical garnered 3 Tony Award nominations in 2013, and is being performed at Missoula the Missoula Children's Theater, 200 Adams Street, December 19-22.
Evening performances Thursday and Friday at 7:30.
Saturday matinee at 2:00 and evening performance at 7:30.
Sunday matinee at 2:00 and evening performance at 6:30.
