A Missoula man is in the county jail after police say he assaulted his girlfriend after she asked him to leave her home because he was drinking alcohol.

"Ronald Hall, 49, was arrested on January 1, at around noon when officers arrived at the 700 block of Marshall street because of a reported disturbance," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh." A woman there reported that she had been in an argument with her boy friend and that he had struck her with a bat and about the face with an open hand and with fists."

Hall is no stranger to Missoula's courts, in fact this is at least his third charge of partner or family member assault. According to police the victim reported that she was hit by the baseball bat in the back.

"The woman had indicators on her face of having been assaulted, she reported that she had been struck in the lower back by the back but was self conscious enough that she did not want to disrobe at all to show officers the injury," Welsh said. "She did not seek medical attention."

Hall was charged with two felonies: for assault with a weapon and for a 3rd or subsequent partner or family member assault. The incident also revoked the conditions of a suspended or deferred sentence for a prior crime.
