Summer's alter ego is construction season, and Missoula is getting a head start on construction season.

The Montana Department of Transportation sent out a press release detailing road construction on Interstate 90 near Missoula.

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will be conducting bridge inspections on 3 bridges on Interstate 90 (I-90) during the month of April. The bridges are located between the Ninemile Road and Petty Creek Road interchanges, between mile markers 80 and 82.

The stretch under the microscope is west of Missoula near Huson and Alberton.

It, fortunately, won't be a lengthy project.

"The inspections will take place between April 3 and April 14, weather and other factors permitting," said the DoT press release.

Each bridge inspection takes between 1-4 days to complete.

On top of it being a shorter project, fortunately, the strip won't be closed.

"Traffic control will be in place while crews are present. Traffic will be restricted to one lane at times and travelers should expect reduced speeds of 35 mph in the work zones," said the DoT's press release.

If there's one thing about winter we can all enjoy, is the lack of construction. But I suppose this is the price we have to pay to enjoy the beautiful weather headed our way over the next 5 months.
