Missoula's Best April Fool's Day Jokes

"You asked for a couple of ice cubes in your drink... and I only gave you one."

It's April Fool's Day. The ole rubberband on the sink, whoopie cushion, electric gum and faking your death are staples of America's least favorite "holiday."

But there were some pretty good jokes/gimmicks posted by Missoula-based companies and organizations. Here were some of my favorites.

Reserve Street is getting an overpass

What really cracks me up about the post is the outrageous amount of funding (6 billion dollars) and the wildly high overpass. Funny stuff.

Missoula Marathon Thong Divison

"the most cheeky division at the Missoula Marathon Weekend of events! Race the Marathon, Half Marathon, or 5K in a thong, and the winner will receive a lifetime supply of anti-chafe cream!" By god, can you imagine how uncomfortable that would be? Either wearing a thong at the marathon or having to look at everyone else in a thong while running the marathon is yucky. Fun joke though.

Beer at Griz games

Ok, this one should actually happen. I don't need an 8 billion dollar overpass or a thong division at the Missoula Marathon, but beer at Washington-Grizzly Stadium on a Griz gameday is a must. Make it happen, UM.

Dome Missoula

Straight out of the Simpsons Movie, Visit Missoula says a bubble is coming to Missoula. I love the nod to a comedic movie.

Hang with your local bears

Missoula Parks and Recreation is hosting a wild city chat called "Bear Banter." "Connect with your neighborhood bear about why they love your dumpster."

That was a fun read. Now, everybody put their April Fool's pranks away until next year.
