Missoula Paddleheads Pitcher Is Stepping Up to the Big Leagues
The Missoula Paddleheads are coming off of a pretty strong baseball season - you know, if you consider winning the Pioneer League championship to be a pretty strong season!
The Paddleheads played some great baseball for their debut season, and obviously, somebody in the major leagues is taking notice - because one fan-favorite Paddlehead player just got signed on to play with the Toronto Blue Jays!
Paddleheads Pitcher Mark Simon is Joining the Blue Jays
Mark Simon has been described as an "ace in the hole" for the Paddleheads, and now he's taking that talent and bringing it to the major leagues by signing on to the Toronto Blue Jays.
Paddleheads manager Michael Schlact followed up the tweet with a quote that said:
We couldn't be prouder of Mark and his opportunity with the Blue Jays... He's a true pro with a major league arm. We wish him nothing but the best and know he's going to represent Missoula and the Paddleheads well as he chases his dream!
You can check out Simon's stats from his time playing with the Paddleheads right here. It's incredibly exciting to see someone who we watched play find success like this, and based on some of the Twitter reactions, people are pretty happy for him.
In the meantime, the Paddleheads are gearing up for their 2022 season, which is set to start with their first home game on May 25th.
