46 year-old Jerry Taylor was in the Missoula County Jail charged with possession and distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a local elementary school.

His wife Julie was charged with possession of dangerous drugs.

According to court documents, the Taylors were arrested on Thursday after a search warrant was granted using information from a confidential informant and other sources that identified Jerry Taylor as a methamphetamine distributor.

Authorities searched the mobile home in the 4000 block of South Avenue West and found numerous baggies and small steel cups containing ‘a white crystalline residue’ along with a glass pipe commonly used to smoke meth. Detectives and officers with the Drug Enforcement Agency determined that there had been ongoing drug distribution at the residence.

In addition to the drugs found at the scene, authorities also removed two minor children from the mobile home and are now with another caregiver.

The mobile home is across South Avenue and less than 1,000 feet from the Target Range Elementary School.

Jerry Taylor appeared in Missoula Justice Court of Friday afternoon before Judge Alex Beal and was released on his own recognizance directly into pretrial supervision.
