TMHT: Lily From Missoula Humane Society is Blooming With Love
Lily may be 11, but this lovable pup is all about car rides and cozy bathroom lounging. Let’s find out how she’s ready for a new chapter.
It was another Take Me Home Tuesday at the radio stations with the Humane Society of Western Montana, sponsored by Paul's Pancake Parlor in Missoula. Katie introduced us to Lily, who had to be put up for adoption - a sad day for the family who could no longer keep her.
MUCH-NEEDED FITNESS PROGRAM IN PROGRESS
Lily loves to ride in the car, sleep on bathroom floors, and go for walks near water on a hot day, which is a good thing, because the shelter would love for her to lose some weight in her new home. They are currently working on a diet and exercise regimen for her now.
Lily has previously lived with dogs and cats, but does best with other animals that match her mellow energy. If you're looking for a friendly and easygoing girl, and you love senior dogs, come meet Lily. And check out all the awesome October events!
ADOPT A SHELTER DOG MONTH
The Humane Society of Western Montana has so many great adult dogs right now. Every Thursday in October, all adult dog adoptions are 50% off. Don't let October 9, 16, 23 or 30 slip buy without a visit to the shelter to fall in love with an adult dog and enjoy big savings on adoption fees.
OFF-SITE PUPPY ADOPTION DAY
The Humane Society of Western Montana partners with so many animal-minded businesses in Missoula, who welcome customers to come visit during adoption events. Bretz RV and Marine is hosting the next puppy adoption day, Friday, October 23, starting at 11:00 a.m. and ending at 1:00 p.m., or until the puppies are all adopted, whichever comes first. Don't be too late or you might miss out. Katie describes the puppies that will be available as "next-level cute."
ANOTHER FREE VACCINATION CLINIC AT THE SHELTER
This is a wildly popular event and for good reason. On October 23, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the shelter will host a free walk-in vaccine clinic:
---Annual dog and cat vaccines.
---Rabies vaccines.
---Free micro-chipping.
Folks should be ready to possibly expect long wait times, as the shelter typically sees over 100 pets during their free clinics.
