Laptop Crook Finally Busted

Yes! A crook that probably would have never been caught got careless and cyber justice prevails. In New Hampshire a guy named Mike Witonis got an email from Apple thanking him for calling customer service about his laptop computer. The thing is, Mike didn't make the call since his laptop had been stolen a year earlier. Police had no suspects in the burglary but they did contact Apple and the laptop's serial number was flagged. So when our thief called for tech support and gave the same serial number as that of the stolen computer, well, a Mr. Casey Wentworth was tracked down, arrested and scheduled to be arraigned May 2. Watonis said he was pretty shocked but happy. I'm sure Wentworth was shocked too. And not happy. DB
