Lady Antebellum Perform ‘We Owned the Night’ on ‘Good Morning America’

Lady Antebellum stopped into the ‘Good Morning America’ studios bright and early this morning, eager to chat about another record-breaking year and perform their latest hit, ‘We Owned the Night.’ Hillary Scott, whose husband-to-be Chris Tyrrell was in tow to play drums during the appearance, reflected on 2011 and admitted that the band certainly does have plenty to be thankful for.

“Especially this time of year,” Scott commented when ‘GMA’ host Robin Roberts asked the trio about their banner year. “It’s a good time to reflect and look back on it, and we do, we have a lot to be thankful for this year.”

Charles Kelley chimed in that this week is Lady Antebellum’s last week on the road this year. They’ll get to spend a little bit of quality time with their families during the holidays before they head out on the next leg of their tour, with Darius Rucker and Thompson Square.

Though they’ve got a handful of awards already, the trio was recently nominated for their sixth Grammy, which — should they snag it — is likely going to make their trophy shelf pretty heavy. But Dave Haywood assured ‘GMA’ viewers that wins are not what it’s about for Lady A. “The awards are always very surreal for us,” the typically quiet Haywood remarked, adding, “But for us it’s about making music. We want to keep writing and we’re already working on, actually, some new stuff. We’ve been writing on the road.”

Following their chat, the trio stood at three mics lined in a row and gave a peppy delivery of ‘We Owned the Night,’ despite their very early morning appearance. If we had to wager a guess, we bet 2012 is going to be just as big as 2010 and 2011 were for Lady A — if not bigger.
