Whether you're a Montana Lady Griz basketball fan or not, you have to feel for this unfortunate young woman.

It was announced today that Kayleigh Valley's return to the court after suffering a season-ending knee injury last October has come to an end.  Our thanks to UM Sports Information Director Joel Carlson for sending us the report.

Kayleigh reinjured the same knee at practice Friday. The extent of the injury was confirmed by MRI on Tuesday. Lady Griz head coach Shannon Schweyen expressed how brokenhearted everyone is for Valley. The coach said Kayleigh did everything right in the process of coming back. She didn't push it. She waited almost a full year and tested great.

Kayleigh had one of the best individual seasons in program and Big Sky Conference history as a junior in 2015-16. She was about to be voted the preseason conference player of the year last fall when the first injury occurred.

A special player who made her mark in Lady Griz fans' hearts. She graduated in May with with a management degree and will add a marketing degree next May.

A quote from Kayleigh: "I want to thank everyone for their continued love and support throughout this process. And I want to thank all the fans for sticking with this program through all the ups and downs."
