The holidays are just around the corner and soon kitchens all across Montana will smell of delicious holiday treats.  Of course, we all have our favorites.  Who doesn't love gingerbread, sugar cookies, holiday pies, homemade fudge, Chex Mex, or divinity?

For many Montanans, it's become a tradition passed down from generation to generation with some of the recipes being part of the family for years. Folks gather around together while listening to their favorite Christmas tunes while cooking, and often sampling along the way.

I'll be honest, I was a little surprised by the answer.  Now don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of this classic holiday treat, or at least a version of it, but is it the best holiday dessert in Montana?

For those of you who might be scratching your heads wondering "What the heck is that?"  It's a simple recipe with just a few ingredients.  Rice cereal mixed with a cookie spread and then topped with a Hersey Kiss. Of course with the simplicity of the ingredients and no baking involved, it would be a wonderful recipe to make with the little ones this holiday season.

Growing up my Mom made a version of these, however, they were peanut butter cookies that had a Hershey Kiss placed firmly in the middle and they are still one of my favorites to this day.
