Missoula Police Officer Thwarts Trespassing Incident, Finds Drugs

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 5, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., a Missoula Police Department officer observed four people standing near Camp-Mak-A-Dream on Johnson St. The officer knew based on conversations with MPD staff that this property is clearly marked with “no trespassing” signs. Further, Camp-Mak-A-Dream employees expressed that they wanted anyone not working for them trespassed from the property. 

The officer turned his patrol vehicle around to make contact with the four individuals. However, they began to quickly walk away. The officer managed to stop them and informed them of the complaints made by Camp-Mak-A-Dream. He then performed warrant checks on each person. The officer discovered that 32-year-old Brianna Jellison has two active warrants. He informed the other three that they are trespassed from Camp-Mak-A-Dream and allowed them to leave the scene.  

The officer arrested Jellison on her warrants. He performed a search incident to arrest and located the following on Jellison’s person: a small Ziplock-type bag with a white crystal-like substance inside, a blue folded piece of paper with a brown substance inside, a metal, pipe-scraping tool, and a piece of tin foil with a burned black/brown residue on it.

Then the officer transported Jellison to the Missoula County Detention Center. He then tested the white crystal substance using the TruNarc scanner. It returned presumptively positive for methamphetamine. He tested the brown substance using a NIK test, which returned presumptively positive for cannabis (not charged). 

Jellison is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
