Three Montana Towns Make List of 50 Coziest This Winter

What does cozy mean to you? Snuggled up by the fire drinking cocoa, possibly spiked with Bailey's? Wearing warm clothes? Or is cozy a vibe?

However you define it, the website Stacker compiled a list of the top 50 coziest towns to visit in the winter. The list was curated based on traveler opinions, and ratings from publications such as U.S. News & World Report, Country Living, and Travel & Leisure. Stacker also took into account winter activities, tourist attractions and other landmarks.

Entries range from all over the U.S. El Dorado, Arkansas made an appearance because of a Christmas parade, Asbury Park, New Jersey made it as one of the best small towns overall and more traditional entries appeared on the list like Breckenridge and Estes Park, Colorado

West Yellowstone, Montana

West Yellowstone will appear on many small-town touristy lists thanks to its name and proximity to Yellowstone National Park. Since a large majority of tourists visit the area in summer, the argument is to visit during the winter to avoid the major rush. It makes it a cozy winter haven to come back to when you're out exploring the winter wonderland. Just don't run into this guy or gal who was photographed in West Yellowstone.

Hamilton, Montana

I love Hamilton getting some national recognition. Hamilton was selected for their winter festivals and because it resides in the Bitterroot Valley you can enjoy all the winter activities and be protected from nasty wind chills. I suppose that's true, but don't get it wrong... it still gets cold in Hamilton.

Bozeman, Montana

BOOOOO! (Just kidding... kind of.) Bozeman was the last Montana entry on the list thanks to its skiing opportunities. Big Sky or Red Lodge have cozier vibes than Bozeman. Do they know it's called Bozeangeles?
