Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 29, 2023, Cody Clark was arrested for his part in stealing a flatbed trailer from a business on Racetrack Lane.  A White Dodge Ram 2500 4-door truck with a Job Box and fuel tank in the back was on the flatbed trailer. The truck was valued at $90,000 and the flatbed trailer was valued at $8,000.

On January 30, 2023, Clark admitted to moving the trailer from the Deep Creek area at the request of his friend, Brandon Griffith. Clark then said he was at the scene of the theft and assisted in taking the trailer. He hooked up the trailer to Griffith’s truck who towed it away from the scene to Deep Creek. Clark said he moved the trailer with his vehicle to Blue Mountain because they weren’t sure what to do with it.

Later that day, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located Griffith’s truck in the Love’s parking lot at the Wye and stopped it. Griffith had a probation violation warrant and was placed under arrest. The deputy contacted the on-call probation officer who requested a search of Griffith’s vehicle.

A search of the vehicle found a .45 caliber pistol located in the back seat, 1.6 grams of suspected meth under the dash cover in the front passenger areas, a silver bag containing paraphernalia, a small plastic container containing 12 suspected fentanyl pills, ammunition, and a cell phone.

The deputy later interviewed Griffith at the Missoula County Jail. Griffith said he was “out of it” when the truck was stolen. He said Clark told him to drive to the trailer at I-State and that Clark gave him directions to back up and hook up the trailer to his truck. Then they drove away with the trailer in Griffith’s truck, which Griffith was driving. They later left the trailer up Deep Creek and Griffith unhooked the trailer from his truck.

Griffith is currently being charged with felony theft and two counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

On February 1, 2023, Griffith made his initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and his bond was set at $25,000 for the theft and $50,000 for the probation violation.
