Missoula Drug Bust: One Pound of Meth and 204 Fentanyl Pills
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 4, 2024, a Task Force Officer was continuing a prior investigation into 45-year-old Patrick Woofter. Through several weeks of investigation, the TFO learned, through a variety of sources, that Woofter was acquiring methamphetamine and fentanyl from the state of Washington.
During March, the TFO applied for and was granted a search warrant for the Woofter’s cellular location data. The TFO also received information from a confidential informant that a shipment of dangerous drugs was destined for Woofter. The TFO learned via the cellular ping location data and surveillance that Woofter was currently living at a residence in the 100 block of Beverly Ave.
On March 13, 2024, the TFO confirmed with the United Parcel Service that a package destined for Woofter’s address existed. That same day, District Court Judge Marks signed a search warrant for the UPS package and the TFO seized the package. The seized package contained Easter eggs, candy, and a stuffie. According to court documents, suspected methamphetamine was sewn inside the stuffie.

The suspected methamphetamine was later confirmed via the TruNarc and the total package weight was 452.9 grams, or just shy of one pound. Within the plastic Easter eggs, the Montana Drug Task Force found 204 suspected fentanyl pills.
On March 13, 2024, members of the MDTF conducted a controlled delivery of the package to the residence on Beverly Ave. Woofter was contacted at the front door of the residence and accepted the package. Following the acceptance of the package, Woofter was immediately taken into custody by members of the MDTF.
Woofter was Mirandized and provided a statement to law enforcement. He admitted to distributing dangerous drugs in Missoula, including methamphetamine. He also took ownership of the distribution quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl. Woofter also admitted to being aware the package contained methamphetamine.
Woofter was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. He is currently being charged with two counts of felony attempted criminal possession with intent to distribute. On March 15, 2024, Woofter made his initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and his bond was set at $100,000.
