Missoula Man Gets Caught With Meth, Fentanyl, Heroin, and Cocaine
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On June 28, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Missoula Police Department officers responded to the Main Street parking garage after a concerned citizen reported seeing two people slumped over in a vehicle with blue pills in their possession. An officer located the car and its occupants on the top level of the parking garage.
A male, identified as 37-year-old Linden Olson, occupied the driver’s seat, and a female occupied the passenger’s seat. The officer observed four blue-colored pills on Olson’s lap. Olson also appeared to be holding a baggie containing an unknown substance and a straw.
The Officer Wakes Up Both Parties
The officer knocked on the driver-side window and both parties woke up. According to court documents, Olson immediately threw the suspected drugs/paraphernalia onto the floorboard and refused to exit the vehicle. The officer pulled Olson out of the car to prevent him from destroying any evidence. As he did, four blue pills bearing an “M” marking fell from Olson’s lap onto the ground. The officer recognized the pills as fentanyl.
Once out of the vehicle, Olson behaved in a manner consistent with someone who has consumed dangerous drugs. Specifically, he mumbled his words, struggled to maintain his balance, and passed in and out of consciousness. At one point, the officer asked Olson to speak more loudly. Olson apologized, stating he was “high.” Olson received medical attention but was placed under arrest. Olson and the female were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The Officer Locates Multiple Dangerous Drugs
Meanwhile, the officer applied for a warrant and conducted a search of the vehicle. On the driver’s-side floorboard he located a baggie containing 7.05 grams of a substance that tested presumptively positive for cocaine using the TruNarc scanner; a baggie containing 18.79 grams of a substance that tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine using the TruNarc scanner; several blue pills bearing a letter “M” marking, which the knows through training and experience to be fentanyl, and a plastic straw with brown residue on it. In the center console, he located a baggie containing 1.5 grams of a substance that NIK tested presumptively positive for heroin.
Continuing his search, the officer located a bag behind the driver’s seat containing a small scale with brown residue on it. He located another scale with white residue on it behind the passenger’s seat and three baggies containing a brown substance that NIK tested presumptively positive for heroin inside a notebook.
After Olson was medically cleared, he was taken to the Missoula County Detention Center. At the jail, Olson was found to be in possession of $1,335 in cash and a small piece of burnt foil.
Olson is currently being charged with four counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. On June 30, 2023, Olson made his initial appearance in Missoula Justice Court and his bond was set at $25,000.
