Missoula Mayor Jordan Hess will serve out the remainder of his term, through December, and won't be up for reelection this November. After finishing third in the mayoral primary, the election will come down to the Executive Director of Homeword, a nonprofit housing developer, Andrea Davis and lifelong Missoulian and former Commissioner of the Missoula Housing Authority Board Mike Nugent.

Earlier this week, Hess officially declared his endorsement for Davis.

I've known and worked with Andrea Davis for over a decade. She's thoughtful, innovative, and collaborative. Andrea shares my values, and she'll lead Missoula forward with a kind temperament and optimism that reflects our community's character. - Jordan Hess via a Facebook post from "Andrea for Mayor"

The Davis campaign Facebook's page expressed their excitement about the endorsement.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've been endorsed by Mayor Jordan Hess! I cannot thank him enough for his service to our city and for his support.

Davis boasted the previous support she's received saying "I am now endorsed by 3 leaders who served as Mayor: Former Mayor Dan Kemmis, Former Mayor Mike Kadas, and now Mayor Jordan Hess. I've earned their support not because we always agree, but because they believe I bring the right skills to the job."

Information you need to know on voting

It's hard to believe but election day is fast approaching. The city's general election is slated for Tuesday, November 7. Mail-in election ballots will be mailed tomorrow October 18. If you are mailing in a ballot this year they NEED to be present at the Election Center on November 7. It can't be en route.
