Drug Dealer Pulls Pistol During Road Rage Incident in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On the afternoon of February 11, 2026, a Missoula Police Department Officer responded to a reported road rage incident on US Highway 10. The officer spoke with the reporting party, John Doe. Doe stated a black car pulled up “out of nowhere” as he was pulling out of Marvin’s Tavern. Doe noticed that the car had a “We the people” sticker on the rear portion of the vehicle. In the area of the Missoula airport, the black car passed Doe on the left, then moved back into the right lane. The vehicles stopped at a red light at W. Broadway and Airway Blvd.
Doe stated that the driver of the black car then exited the driver’s side door and began walking towards the driver’s side of Doe’s vehicle while holding a black semi-automatic pistol. The driver walked to within approximately 6’ of Doe’s driver’s side door, raised the gun, and kept it raised, parallel to Doe’s vehicle and pointed only a few degrees away from Doe’s person.
The driver was screaming, “You could have hit me, you could have hit me, watch where you’re going.” Doe apologized and stated he was terrified at the time. The driver then returned to his vehicle and drove away as the signal turned green. Doe then turned and traveled west to the Costco parking lot, explaining that he just wanted to be “around people” at that point.

Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies located a black vehicle with a “We the People” sticker on the rear at a residence in the 1700 block of Cooley St. Officers determined from available records that 44-year-old Adam Christensen is the registered owner of that vehicle and resides at that address. Officers responded to that location, observed Christensen exit and quickly re-enter the residence three times, and then exit the residence and walk away.
Another officer made contact with Christensen by phone and spoke with him regarding the incident. Christensen stated that another vehicle had cut him off on Highway 10 W and that he had gotten out of his car and yelled at the driver. Christensen said that he did not have a gun or anything that could be mistaken for a gun in his hands at the time.
Officers performed warrant searches of Christensen’s vehicle and residence. During these searches, law enforcement located eleven handguns or pistols in the residence, several of which were consistent with Doe’s description of the involved gun.
In a bedside cupboard, a detective observed several glass jars with a light-colored fungal growth, which he recognized as consistent with psilocybin mushrooms, which are defined as a dangerous drug under Montana law. Officers also observed other jars that were growing fungus, labeled with “MFH. APE,” “Platinum Gates,” “Tat Brains,” “Gandalf X’s,” and similar names, which appeared consistent with street names for drugs.

The detective noted that the quantity of mushrooms was substantially greater than could plausibly be desired for personal use. Ultimately, officers collected a total of 66 containers.
Christensen was arrested and transported to jail. He is currently being charged with felony assault with a weapon, felony criminal production or manufacture of dangerous drugs, and felony criminal possession with intent to distribute.
