Woodtick Festival Bringing Indie Music And Camping To Montana
Montana’s live music scene keeps getting bigger, and 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for concerts and festivals across the state. While many fans are focused on the major arena and amphitheater shows coming through Montana, there is also a growing number of smaller, more unique camping-style festivals popping up around western Montana.
Exciting Festivals on the Horizon
We have already heard about events like the Woosh Festival, which is bringing an alternative music vibe to Montana, along with the Lovers and Lunatics EDM-focused festival planned near Frenchtown. Now, another outdoor music experience is getting ready to take over the Bitterroot.

The Woodtick Music Festival is set to take place July 17-18 near Darby, offering two days of music, camping, and outdoor adventure in the heart of western Montana. The festival will be held on Chaffin Creek Road, about a quarter mile past Crystal Brook Ranch.
A Diverse Lineup of Artists
Organizers describe the event as “two days of music from Montana and beyond,” and the lineup features a mix of indie, folk, and experimental artists. Highlights include Cass McCombs performing on July 18 and Marisa Anderson taking the stage on July 17. Several additional regional and touring artists are also expected throughout the weekend.

The Woodtick Music Festival is designed to be more than just a concert. Festivalgoers will be able to camp on-site and enjoy two days outdoors while taking in live music. Food vendors, beer and wine, and local merchandise vendors will also be available during the event. Guests are allowed to bring their own food and drinks to their campsites, although organizers encourage attendees to support on-site vendors.
Planning Ahead: Tips for Attendees
One thing attendees should keep in mind is that potable water will be limited, so planning ahead and bringing your own water will be important for anyone camping at the festival.

For music fans looking for a more laid-back and adventurous festival experience this summer, Woodtick could end up being one of Montana’s most unique events of 2026.
