If you've ever scrolled through social media and seen people raving about Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, you're not alone. The fast-growing chicken chain has built a loyal following across the country, and while Montana still doesn't have a location, the company keeps inching closer to the Treasure State.

Recent Expansions: A Step Closer to Montana

One of the biggest developments came earlier this year when Raising Cane's opened its first North Idaho location in Coeur d'Alene in March.

The expansion is part of a much larger growth strategy. Raising Cane's recently celebrated the opening of its 1,000th restaurant and has stated plans to continue opening dozens of new locations each year. The company has been aggressively expanding into new markets across the country as it works toward becoming a truly nationwide brand.

The State of Raising Cane's in the Region

While Idaho continues to add locations, Montana remains one of the few states without a Raising Cane's. North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming are also still waiting for their first locations.

The company's expansion plans suggest that some of the remaining states without Raising Cane's locations could be targeted in the coming years as the chain continues growing.

Potential Locations in Montana: A Closer Look

Nothing has been announced for Montana, but if Raising Cane's follows its typical strategy, the most likely candidates would be larger population centers and college towns.

College communities have historically been strong markets for Raising Cane's, and both Missoula and Bozeman fit that profile. Billings, meanwhile, offers the state's largest population base.

Until Montana lands its first location, fans will have to make a road trip. The closest options are currently in neighboring Idaho, including Coeur d'Alene, or in North Dakota.

With Raising Cane's continuing to expand and adding new markets every year, Montana may not have to wait forever. But for now, Montana chicken finger fans will have to keep their fingers crossed.
