Missoula’s 2023 ‘Run for the Luck of It’ In Pictures
Every time there is an event in Missoula from March until about May you never know what kind of weather you will run into. This year's "Run For the Luck Of It", hosted by Run Wild Missoula, was no exception. With a big snowfall the day before, it was up in the air as to what "Mother Nature" had in store for the fun run.
Missoula's Weather Turned Out Fine
The weather turned out to be fine for the run. The "Run For the Luck Of It" was held for the first time at the Missoula Fairgrounds. It was a great venue for the runs. There were two runs this year, a 5k and a 7 mile run. Irish Dancers were at the start/finish line to get the runners in the spirit. The Celtic Dragon Pipe Band was there to welcome the runners back to the finish line. The Missoula Paddleheads mascot "Paxson" was on hand to greet everyone.
After the Run The Green Beer Was Flowing
After the run there was sausages, stew, and the green beer was flowing for the adults and non-alcoholic drinks for the kids. The costumes are always a hit, and this year they had a dual purpose because they also helped to keep the runners warm.
Missoula Marathon is Coming
"The Run for the Luck Of It" was a nice warm-up for the Missoula Marathon. As the names were called crossing the finish line, there were quite a few runners that were announced that will also be participating in the Missoula Marathon this year which is scheduled June 23-25.
Missoula's Run for the Trees Is Next Month
Coming up on the calendar will be the "Run for the Trees" on Saturday April 22nd at Silver Park right next to the Paddlehead statdium. There will be a 1-mile fun run, a 5k and 7k runs. Run for the Trees registration is on now.
