Warning: Misbranded Frozen Pizza Shipped To Montana Super Markets
More recalls for 2023? What could It be this time?
Yes, more recalls this time it's for pizza, lots of pizza.
According to Food Manufacturing, 4,000 pounds of frozen pizza meat has been recalled due to a discrepancy over a label.
In an U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service report, The Green Valley Foods company out of North Dakota "misbranded" undeclared allergens on their packaging of their frozen pizzas.
These undeclared allergens are reported as soy.
According to the Food Manufacturing article, these pizzas were produced over one year, September 20th, 2022 through September 20th, 2023 with lot codes 2632 through 2633. The problem was discovered after a routine inspection of products recently with establishment number M- 47285 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Products were shipped out to Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana. At the time of this writing, no adverse reactions were reported due to the consumption of said frozen pizzas.
According to the article, here are several types of pizza products that have been misbranded:
-22.75-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing pieces of “GRUBBERPUTZ’S TACO PREMIUM PIZZA Made with Taco Sauce, Refried Beans, Beef, Taco Filling, Cheddar Cheese, Taco Tortilla Chips”.
-24.25-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing “GRUBBERPUTZ’S 3-MEATER PREMIUM PIZZA Made with Pepperoni, Canadian Style Bacon, Pork Sausage”.
-23.1-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing “GRUBBERPUTZ’S HOG UNIT PREMIUM PIZZA Made with Canadian Style Bacon, Bacon, Jalapeno Peppers, BBQ Sauce”.
-24.5-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing “GRUBBERPUTZ’S HOUSE SPECIAL PREMIUM PIZZA Made with Pepperoni, Pork Sausage, Green Pepper, Red Pepper, Onions, Mushrooms”.
-21.75-oz. vacuum-sealed packages containing “GRUBBERPUTZ’S PEPPERONI PREMIUM PIZZA Pepperoni made with Pork, Beef”.
The Food Safety and Inspection Service suspects that these products are already in consumer freezers and instructs everyone to throw the products away upon discovery.
