There was a time in my life when I lived near downtown Missoula. It was great! I was within walking distance of all the great bars and shopping. I worked nights, so It was nice to get off of work and still enjoy a little nightlife. Even if it was late.

One of my all-time favorite places in Missoula is the legendary Oxford Saloon! I fell in LOVE with The Oxford, because they were always there for me when I needed them. And they were within "stumbling distance" from home. If I needed a late-night meal. The Ox was there to feed me. If I wanted to unwind and play some live poker. The Ox always had a fun game. I practically lived at the Oxford late at night.

The Oxford has always been branded as a 24/7 diner/saloon. Rumor has it that the reason they never close is because they lost the keys to the door. Unfortunately, even Oxford has struggled with the hiring crisis many businesses have experienced over the past few years. Because of that, they could no longer stay open 24 hours. Meaning late night owls like myself didn't have a place to go.

Thankfully that was quickly remedied. A sign spotted on the front door of the Oxford reads that they are BACK to 24/7 service.

The Oxford has been a part of Missoula since long before Montana even became an official state. A business that started in a canvas wall tent on the banks of the Clark Fork River. The Oxford started cooking for hungry lumberjacks and cowboys nearly 140 years ago. They continue to feed hungry Missoulians to this day.
