The term "Keep Missoula Weird" exists for a reason. Because we're pretty darn weird, and we love it. Case in point, The 14th Annual Tweed Ride.

Just when you think Missoula couldn't surprise you anymore you see a guy in a cape riding a unicycle downtown with a parrot on his shoulders. This is an exact scenario I have witnessed. No joke.

Now, to amp things up a notch, the fine folks at Montana Free Cycles are once again hosting their annual "Tweed Ride". This will be the 14th year in a row. In my opinion, a success story for an event can only happen in the Zoo. Let's look at the details.

Riders will meet at Montana Free Cylces on Saturday, October 14th anytime between 4 pm - 4:30 pm. Riders are strongly encouraged to dawn their best tweed, wool, or any old-time-themed clothing. Think London in the 1920's - 1930's.

The ride will cruise through Missoula with frequent stops for tea, photos, snacks, socializing, and more. The whole ride will last until around 8 pm where they will meet back at Free Cycles where they will host live music, a fire, and some soup!

This year they will once again be awarding prizes for: Best Dressed, Best 'Doo, Best Stache, Best Bike, and Best Dawn of The Cap.

Like I said, only in Missoula. In case you're unclear on what you just read, yes, Missoulians will be dawning very vintage tweed and wool clothing and bicycles all around Missoula like something out of a French foreign film from the 1930s.  Do me a favor, Missoula, and never change.  You can watch a similar event they host in London via the video below.
