Is Outback Steakhouse Closing in Montana? Here’s What We Know!
Montana is cattle country. You can consider most Montanans experts when it comes to a good steak. We know how a steak should be cooked. And are super critical if not handled properly. Or maybe I'm just speaking for myself. Regardless, I can be super critical of how a steak is prepared at a restaurant. This is the reason why I don't find myself going out for steak dinners as much as I should.

I could go for a Bloomin Onion and one of those comically large draft beers they serve at Outback Steakhouse. It has been far too long since I ate at an Outback Steakhouse. When was the last time you ate at Outback? That could be why Outback Steakhouse announced they are closing dozens of stores across the country. Cutting down on cost by shutting down over 40 restaurants in 2024.
According to USA Today
Bloomin' Brands Inc., the parent company of Outback Steakhouse and other restaurants, says it is closing 41 locations across its portfolio.
“Closing restaurants is never easy. This was a business decision that has no reflection on the staff or their service. Many team members will have the opportunity to transfer to open positions at another restaurant. Employees who do not will receive severance,” Bloomin' Brands said in an emailed statement.
Does this mean Montana will lose an Outback Steakhouse?
So far Outback locations in Florida, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the last remaining Hawaii and New Hampshire spots recently closed. None of the Montana locations have surfaced in any news of possible closures.
Bloomin Brands is planning on pumping money back into remaining stores and giving them a "facelift."
Montana currently has 3 Outback Steakhouse restaurants. (Billings, Bozeman, Missoula).
