How many of you have got your bird feeders filled and the suet blocks out for the winter birds? The small feeder I have up is frequented several times a day. There aren’t a lot of birds that do stay all winter in our area but those that do need the extra food we can provide them.

Birds need to consume half of their weight daily to survive. You might want to check with some bird people about what feeds are best. With snow on the ground and cold temperatures the birds can use the help finding food.

I fill my feeder every other day. Make sure you get the kind that can’t be raided by squirrels, they can empty one in no time. It’s also very entertaining watching the squirrels trying to figure out how to get to the bird seed.
