Greetings,

This past weekend the Irish Studies Program at the University of Montana hosted P.J. Curtis from West Clare, Ireland. He's quite an expert on Irish music. He talked about how the music of  Ireland made it's way to the U.S. and was one fo the roots of Country music. He played examples and tied it all together nicely. He also said had not America, taken this music to heart, a great Irish tradition would have been lost.  It was nurtured here and taken back in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This is all leading up to a series of concerts titled " A Springtime of Irish Traditional Music", which starts March 20th. Its four shows that promise to be very entertaining. The performers are all coming over from Ireland and are all world class.
