Incredible Artist Headed to the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame
Missoula's airport, banks, restaurants, hotels and more. Most of us, at least in this part of the country, have seen his work.
He is a special talent, and his unique abilities to vividly capture western landscapes, people, wildlife and lifestyles are unsurpassed. The brilliance of the artist is evident in the brilliance of the art.
There is only one Larry Pirnie.
The Northern Ag Network tells us that the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame & Western Heritage Center has announced their 17th class of inductions into the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame. The inductees were chosen from a field of candidates nominated by the general public. Inductees are honored for their notable contributions to the history and culture of Montana. The Cowboy Hall of Fame "honors those who have made an impact in their part of the state and represent Montana’s authentic western heritage for future generations,” according to the hall's president, DuWayne Wilson.
Larry Pirnie is sometimes referred to as the "Crayola Kid" for his vibrant western scenes that capture the vitality and romance of the west. He is celebrated for the energy and passion his work portrays. He has spent more than 30 years living and painting in Montana, and his signature style is internationally recognized and celebrated.
Since 2004, Larry Pirnie's artwork has been sold exclusively by L.A. Design in Missoula.

The Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame's board of directors has designated 12 districts across the state. The Class of 2025 inductions allowed for the election of one Living Inductee and one Legacy Inductee from each of the 12 districts.
Mr. Pirnie will represent District 11 - Mineral, Missoula, and Ravalli Counties - as the Living Inductee. Legacy Inductee is E Bar L Ranch of Greenough.
The annual induction ceremony and gathering will be February 8, 2025, in Great Falls at the Heritage Inn.
