If you are some of the 37 million American travelers expected to hit the road this weekend, you can expect some added pump pressure.

You have no doubt noticed the significant increases in gas prices over the last few weeks, in fact an average of 12 cents per gallon more in just the last 14 days. Now, I have a hard time remembering the price of gas a month ago, let alone a year ago, but there is a major bump in prices compared to Memorial Day, 2017!

In 2017, Montana's average gas price was right around $2.40 per gallon. This year, the national average is a whopping $2.93 per gallon and they are still on the uphill climb! That is the highest since 2014. You might as well just round it up to $3 and do your best to drive economically. Heading west? Idaho and Washington prices are even higher.

Fortunately, there are lots of lakes and mountains nearby and maybe the amount of miles you put on your vehicle won't lead to too much of a butt kickin' at the pumps.

Safe travels all. I think I'm happy to be staying put this year.
