Here’s Missoula’s Annual Sign That Spring is Almost Upon Us!
It's just about that time of the year again. Yep, love is in the air here in early February! It sure feels like it always sneaks up on us, doesn't it? Life just gets so busy and it's easy to forget if you're not reminded about it before the big day arrives. I'm of course talking about the opening day of the year for the Missoula Dairy Queen location on Higgins. Wait, what did you think I was talking about?
Feel the DQ love on Valentine's Day
I didn't know what to think when I drove by the DQ on Higgins during my first winter in town and saw that it was closed. I had never seen a recognizable fast food place like that close down for the season. But it's just one more thing that makes Missoula so unique. I saw the picture above posted on Twitter today and it made me smile knowing that we'll see people at the DQ window in just a week, on Valentine's Day. Somebody with a user name of @groundswellzoo replied to the tweet and I think the reason I was smiling is probably that I'm right there with her dad's line of reasoning.
My dad gets so stoked every year when this DQ opens and he doesn't even patronize the store. He just think it has some significance in the universe that means spring is on the way. -@groundswellzoo
And speaking of signs.....
I know this doesn't really have anything to do with the DQ on Higgins announcing they'll soon be serving up Blizzards, but three posts above the Dairy Queen post I saw someone post this picture of a sign here in town. Now that's just good humor. Thought I would share!
