It has been standing-room-only at the Rockin' RC Rodeo of the Ravalli County Fair in Hamilton. In fact, a LOT of SRO goin' on as the grandstands have completely filled for the Ranch rodeo team competition Wednesday night and the Bull-A-Rama and Bronc Riding night Thursday. Even, the little kids got into the Bull night, with "mutton busting" sheep riding and the buckin' little horses.

The fair in Hamilton has the theme "Blue Jeans and Rodeo Scenes," which describe the main area action pretty well. One of the big NRA-sanctioned rodeos starts Friday night and continues into Saturday for the finals. These are nationally ranked contestants and animals. The action is non-stop.

Of course, there's always a bit of pageantry. The young ladies of the Rockin' RC Royalty will be crowned Friday night at 6:15 p.m. with the Bitterroot Mountettes drill team putting their horses through the precise routine at 6:45 p.m. Most of the rodeo action starts at 7 p.m. each night, but the Rockin' RC Barrel Racing Finals will be Saturday at 5 p.m. One of the great things about the Ravalli County Fair is that your admission fee to the fairgrounds includes all the rodeo action - no extra charge.

Of course, the usual things that bring you back to the fair every year are here. We've got the Fair Food in the food court, and a ton of great thrill rides in the carnival area. And don't forget the exhibits. Lots of talented people have entered their creations in all sorts of categories. There are plenty of blue ribbons out there at the Ravalli County Fair.
