The snowstorms that left over two feet of snow on the ground in valley locations in the Bitterroot have also caused roof woes in Hamilton. The most visible example is an unoccupied lumber yard storage roof along U.S. 93 just south of the Main Street stoplight. The former Massa lumber storage area collapsed earlier this month.

Starting last week and continuing through the March 16th weekend, the building housing the Elks Lodge and Neff's Flooring was closed while inspection continued on that snow-clogged roof. Barricades were placed around the building. The adjacent sidewalk at State and South 2nd was also closed. (see photo below)
