Rehearsals have started for the Hamilton Players' production of the award-winning musical "Chicago."

The story of a Roarin' 20s murder and the the battle for headlines include familiar musical numbers telling the story of "fame. fortune and acquittal." "Chicago" was hit on Broadway and in the movies, too.

The local community theater group will be bringing their production of the show to the Hamilton Playhouse stage starting February 16. The play will be on stage for three weekends - February 16-18, February 23-25 and March 2-4.

The cast includes Tasha Fain as Roxie Hart, Mara Luther as Velma Kelly, Brit Garner as Matron "Mama" Morton, Eric Monson as Billy Flynn and Steve Reynolds as Amos Hart. Also in the strong cast are Nicole Cheethum, Dara Wilson, Darlynn Davis, Allison Toshoff, Julie Waibel, Serena Howard, Regan Farley and Rich Thomas.

Tickets will go on sale January 26th and can be purchased online at the Hamilton Players website or by calling the box office at 375-9050 Wednesdays through Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
