The first half mistake-prone Montana Grizzlies came out on fire in the third quarter, just like they've been doing almost all season.

Trailing 17-14 at half thanks to two touchdowns scored after Griz fumbles, Montana dominated the Portland State Vikings with a 24-6 run in the second half to walk away with a 38-23 victory at Hillsboro Stadium in Portland. Griz wide receiver and Portland native Somori Toure electrified the huge Griz crowd in attendance, with 140 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Receiver Sammy Akem added to the excitement with a a 75-yard touchdown catch, as backup quarterback Cam Humphrey filled in for starter Dalton Sneed for the second game in a row. And of course, the Montana defense was relentless, especially in the second half.

Montana improves to 7-2 on the season. At least three teams ahead of the Griz in the national rankings were defeated today. Life is good in Griz Nation this weekend. See you next Saturday when Idaho comes to town.
