Five bad passes and a whole lot of bad weather were too much to overcome for the Montana Grizzly football team.

In game-long rain, snow and wind, the Griz took a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter, but a fierce Weber State Wildcat defense forced Montana quarterback Dalton Sneed into throwing five interceptions, tying a Montana school record, and also blocked a punt for a touchdown. And while the Montana defense was equally imposing, the Griz could seldom get into position to score again and fell 17-10 in the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision  quarterfinals.

The Griz hit a field goal with 3:23 left in the game and got the ball back, but the fifth interception salted the game away, denying the Griz a chance to tie the game. .

Weber State moves on to the FCS semifinals at James Madison next weekend. The Griz wrap up 2019 at 10-4. Congrats on a fine season, guys. Bigger and better things a-comin'!
