Griz Facing A Tough Opponent This Weekend
After a solid start to the season with a 45-23 victory over Valparaiso, our University of Montana Grizzlies have a much more difficult opponent this weekend. Our Grizzlies will be traveling to Seattle to take on the University of Washington Huskies. This means a little more to me as I grew up in Seattle, but I am a Griz fan. GO GRIZ!
Our offense was fun to watch under first year QB Reese Phillips, he had a pair of touchdowns to stud WR Jerry Louie-McGee. Reliable RB, Jeremy Calhoun also took a pair of one-yard runs into the end zone to help get our Griz the first win of the season.
But the University of Washington also won last week as they beat up on Rutgers 30-14 on the road. The game against our Griz will be the home opener for the Huskies, and will be the first time the teams have faced off since 1951.
The Huskies are a major favorite to win the game on Saturday inside of Husky Stadium but our Grizzlies will be ready to play. The game kicks off at 6pm here in Missoula and every television in town will have the game on. Good luck to Coach Stitt and our Montana Grizzlies as they try to pull off a huge upset and wipe the floor with Washington in their own stadium.
