The Montana Grizzly football team had a total of 17 players named to the All-Big Sky Conference team announced Tuesday.  The Griz had four players named to the first team and one second-team pick, as well as 13 players named honorable mention. Montana's first team selections on offense were senior tight end Greg Hardy and junior tackle Danny Kistler. Junior linebacker Jordan Tripp and sophomore end Zack Wagenmann were named first team defensive unit. Senior halfback Peter Nguyen was UM's sole second team selection.

The honorable mention picks on defense were linebacker John Kanongata'a, tackle Alex Bienemann, tackle Tonga Takai, end Josh Harris, linebacker Brock Coyle,  cornerback Sean Murray and safety Matt Hermanson. Harris is the only senior in that group, as the Griz return 10 starters on defense.

On offense, honorable menttion went to receiver Sam Gratton, guard Jake Hendrickson and center Kjelby Oiland.

Special teams honorable mention picks were Peter Ngyuen, kicker Chris Lider and punter Stephen Shaw.

Congratulations to all those kids. There's still lots to be proud of and lots to be excited about for 2013. DB
