Pity the poor colony of garden gnomes who must find alternative housing. Do you think this urban subdivision was really upsetting wildlife?

Well, Associated Press tells us that was the reasoning behind a change of mind by the Little Buffalo State Park (Pennsylvania) managers. They originally gave Steve Hoke permission to make miniature gnome houses and place them in places like hollow logs and stumps in the park.

According to Mr. Hoke, they were a major attraction for children. Until the state park decided that the little houses could affect wildlife habitat. Fortunately, a couple of local parks have offered to house the houses. Or give homes to the homes for gnomes, or...well, here's hoping it isn't too far for the gnomes to roam to their relocated gnomes.
