Fatal Vehicle versus Pedestrian Crash Reported in St. Ignatius
Lake County Sheriff Don Bell sent out a press release on Saturday afternoon about a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash that occurred in St. Ignatius just before 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
Bell reports that Lake County 9-1-1 took a report of an apparently intoxicated pedestrian who was walking on Highway 93 near the Mission Creek Bridge in St. Ignatius at 6:27 p.m.
Just one minute later, a 9-1-1 caller reported that believed they might have struck a pedestrian in the vicinity.
Emergency responders were able to determine that the female pedestrian was deceased and had been struck by the northbound vehicle.
Bell reports that the identity of the pedestrian was determined to be that of 31 year-old Maureen Twoteeth, a resident of Pablo.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol are conducting a joint investigation into the woman’s death.
There have been no arrests, and the driver of the vehicle has been cooperating with the investigation.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office extended their condolences to the family of Ms. Twoteeth.
No other details have been released regarding the vehicle versus pedestrian death.
