Today we pay our respects to Bam Bam , a bighorn sheep given his name because of his habit of butting vehicles. Bam Bam died with his horns, likely of natural causes. He was the last survivor of a herd in Sinks Canyon State Park near Lander. Bam Bam was somewhat of a celebrity. For about three years he would show up at the park entrance and allow people to pet him. However there was that nasty butting cars habit. Fearing the safety of tourist and sheep alike, park officials moved him to to an enclosed state facility. Awwww. Broken head or broken heart? Anyway Bam Bam will live on in taxidermy form  in the park's visitor center. DB
