Dragon Hollow will be closed May 8-24 as they work on the refurbishment and expansion of the play area.  Did you know it was volunteers that did the work when it was originally built?  And this time, as they get set to begin the main portion of work,  they're looking for a lot of help again - 2,300 volunteers!

To volunteer your time, help provide tools, or make donations, you can sign up HERE.

Sure you have to do a little work......but you'll feel great about helping in the community effort!  Plus, there will be beverages, snacks, meals, and child care provided to volunteers.

The official press release that seeks volunteers is posted below.

Dragon Hollow Expansion in need of volunteers and tools

A Carousel for Missoula is looking for 2,300 volunteers to help refurbish and expand Dragon Hollow Playarea. Between May 14 and May 20, 2019, we will create an all-abilities playground where all children can play. Volunteers of all skill levels are needed. Those comfortable using a circular saw will be considered skilled workers; those not comfortable with a circular saw will be considered unskilled. There is plenty of work for everyone, but volunteers must be at least 12 to be in the area and at least 16 to be part of the construction.

To make it easier for families to help, we are offering free licensed child care at Southgate Mall & the Missoula Early Learning Center. During the week, children in diapers will be cared for at MELC, and older children will be cared for at the Mall. On the weekend, all children will be cared for at the Missoula Early Learning Center.

Missoula City busses run from the Mall to downtown on a regular schedule, so volunteers are asked to park at the Mall and ride the bus to the construction site to alleviate parking congestion in the area.

Beverages, meals and snacks will be provided to all volunteers on site.

We are also in need of tools to keep the volunteers active and productive. Tools must be on site for the duration of the build and will be returned in the condition in which they were received. A list of tools needed can be found on our website ~ SaveTheDragonMT.com.

There is a lot of work to be done. It all starts by putting our heads and hands together as a community. Thank you for your commitment to improving Dragon Hollow so children of all abilities can play together and learn important lessons from each other.

To volunteer, offer tools or donate, please visit SaveTheDragonMT.com.

P.S. Please be aware that Dragon Hollow will be closed from May 8 through May 24, to accommodate the upgrades. Thank you for your understanding, We would love to see you at A Carousel for Missoula, which will remain open during the renovations.
