Hamilton has joined other cities, towns and the State of Montana in declaring a public health emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Dominic Farrenkopf signed the proclamation Friday, March 20.

The proclamation said the city will follow state and county health directives, and that all meetings of boards, commissions and advisory group meetings are postponed, unless the meeting is legally required to take an action. In that case, the meeting may be held by electronic means. Emergency expenditures can be approved by the mayor and he can take all measures necessary to address the emergency. A copy of the declaration is on the City of Hamilton website. The city had already postponed the Spring Cleanup Days in April.
