The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Superhero Run is this weekend, October 3rd & 4th! Considering the pandemic and social distancing, you'll do this year's run on your own while listening to our special 'Superhero Playlist' on Alt 101.5.

This Saturday, October 3rd is packet pick up morning at Imagine Nation Brewing, 1151 West Broadway, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. This is also the perfect window to do your run as we will be broadcasting the Superhero Playlist on Alt 101.5! So be sure to tune in while you're walking or running. We will be handing out race swag bags, superhero capes, race bibs, and CASA t-shirts to registered race participants on Friday, Oct. 2nd, 3-6:30 p.m. at Imagine Nation Brewing in addition to the Saturday packet pick up.

We're excited to be part of this year's CASA Superhero 5K, it's virtual, it's fun for kids and adults and you get to wear a cape! Not familiar with CASA? CASA is Court Appointed Special Advocates. Basically, CASA volunteers are a trusted adult and voice for the children in court. These are community members who step up to take training and get assigned to children to look out for. Kids who are abused and/or neglected and need one person they can trust to have their back. Now that you know this is for such a great cause, I know you'll want to join us!

Register here anytime until Sunday (Oct. 4) night, and make sure to tag @CASAofMissoula in your participation and run to let everyone know why you run for CASA.  All proceeds from this event go towards helping CASA of Missoula train and support volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system until they can find a safe, permanent home.

If you've ever thought about volunteering as a CASA now is a good time to get interested. The next training begins in October, so the first step is filling out an online application here. You can also learn more about CASA responsibilities on that application page, I'm on the Board of Directors, so if you have any questions at all, I'm happy to answer them if I can, angel@alternativemissoula.com
