City In Idaho Pays Homage To Obscure Montana Towns

We're all obsessed with Montana so who can blame an out-of-state town yearning to be Montana? When I was scrolling on Reddit, I came across a user pointing out that Caldwell, Idaho has a section of Montana within city limits.

Using other cities and states as street names isn't unusual. Missoula has street names like Livingston, Benton (maybe Fort Benton, maybe a bit of a stretch), Ronan, Cleveland, Dublin, etc. Chicago, Illinois has a very famous Michigan Avenue, so it's ubiquitous. What I find unusual is the selection of town names in this portion of the aforementioned neighborhood in Caldwell, Idaho.

Caldwell's Montana Avenue is located near Great Falls Avenue and Yellowstone Street. Everybody knows Yellowstone National Park. Great Falls has 60 thousand people, so I understand referencing those locations in street names. The smaller towns like Seeley Lake Avenue, White Fish Lake Street, Bigfork Avenue, Columbia Falls Avenue and Hesper Street are the ones that throw me for a loop.

Oh, there's also an Alzada Avenue not listed on the map above. I had to look up where Alzada is and sure enough, it's a town of 29 people located in Carter County Montana near the South Dakota border.

Specifically, why did Caldwell city officials reference Alzada and Hesper, Montana? Hesper is located near Billings, so both towns are on the opposite end of Montana from Idaho. Caldwell is near Boise. It's a good 9ish hour drive between the two locations. How the heck did they get street sign credentials?

I can comprehend Columbia Falls, Seely Lake and Bigfork since they're clustered closer to Caldwell. But the rest I'm puzzled by.
