Over 20 years ago, some enterprising Bitterroot Valley folks opened a corn maze south of Victor. It had the usual long passages that led you the wrong way and occasionally the right way to get back out. But over the years, the scary elements of what is now called "The Field of Screams" have taken over. Oh sure, there's some non-scary activities (Kids Adventures) for the little ones during the earlier hours, but when darkness begins to dominate ... all bets are off. Last year, the website FrightFind.com selected the Field of Screams the #1 Haunted Attraction for Western Montana. And with many attractions shutting down due to COVID-19 this year, this is a welcome Halloween treat.

Speaking of COVID-19, they are NOT running their Quick Escape Rooms this year. As far as the Field of Screams itself, this from their website:
We will be following State and County guidelines in our food & ticket booth. Porta potties will be cleaned and sanitized often. Haunters are already wearing masks and will not touch you. You are encouraged to wear a face mask. We will not be policing this. You have plenty of room for social distancing. It is up to you to do it.

The ghouls amongst the cornstalks are right next to the southbound lane of US 93 about 4 and a half miles south of Victor. It is north of Sheafman Creek Road and south of Bear Creek Road. They are open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Halloween. Ages 8 and up are recommended. It's scary, and if you "chicken out" and don't go through the whole attraction, they feel they've succeeded. So, no refunds. It's only $17. That gets you in ... it's up to you to get yourself out!
