Some Things Are More Important Than Baseball (I Think)
The main reason why my wife and I were traveling back to Seattle this past weekend was because every year I get together with my buddies and some family to draft our fantasy baseball teams. It is a reason to all get together drink a few beers, hear life updates, and most importantly give each other a hard time.
This trip was extra special as I had a really good friend who became a dad for the first time this past week. As much as I wanted to meet his little son, I didn't meet him this trip. The draft itself took about three-and-a-half hours including a few breaks to go to the bathroom, etc.
I am feeling pretty confident about my team, especially since I have the best player in baseball, Mike Trout. But thinking back on this past weekend already it wasn't so much about drafting a baseball team as it is about taking one day to just hang out with your friends and family with similar sports interests.
