Residents in the areas affected by last summer's Lolo Creek fire complex were advised  by fire and sheriff's office personnel on Tuesday afternoon to prepare for possible flooding this spring.

Given the recent wetness we’ve been so fortunate to have lately, I decided to look at it positively rather than negatively because it seems as though it’s going to stick around for a while. So, here are some creative, and not so creative, ways I’ve come up with to make it through rainy season in Missoula.

Numerous spectacular lightning strikes in the South Hills area of Missoula were reported on Thursday evening, as a strong storm cell swept through the area, bringing with it strong, gusty winds and soaking rains in some locations.

A very warm, moist system that started in Hawaii has been making its presence felt in Western Montana this weekend with more than a half-inch of rain.

A strong weather system moving through Western Montana early Wednesday morning brought rain, and even some snow to the Missoula area.

There is no rain forecast for today, the last day of September, and if that prediction holds true, Missoula will have made it through the entire month without seeing a drop.

Thursday's record amount of rainfall prompted some research.
